Things to Do
The California State Capitol is the heart of California's government and is a historical, preserved California State Park building. The building features exhibits and tours and you may even see our govenor walking the halls. The surrounding park is an arboretum of trees from around the world and is adjacent to downtown shopping and restaurants.
Old Sacramento is a step back into time to the wild west where the gold rush began. Bustling with non-stop activity, Old Sacramento is adjacent to rivers, downtown and The California Railroad Museum. A National Historic Landmark District and California State Historic Park designation.
Crocker Art Museum In 1885, Margaret E. Crocker presented the gallery and the Crocker Collection "in trust for the public" in a public-private partnership with the city of Sacramento. This is one of the oldest museums in the west housing historical California art along with reknown modern artists. Gold rush history to Asian art to edgy contemporary pieces can be found here in this beautiful historic building. New building additions have expanded this museum recently.
